Basmati rice has a very distinct smell, the name Basmati is from Hindi meaning “full of aroma” or “fragrant”. The Basmati grain when cooked retains their characteristic length and slenderness. They expand more than twice its dry length. For best results we recommend rice to water ratio of 1 : 1.5 (1 cup of rice to 1.5 cups of water).
